Read To Find Out Why Wellsite Geology Has Inflated Over Time

By Carolyn Olson

Geology can best be defined as the study the surface of the earth, beginning with analyzing rocks that comprise it. Rocks are important because they are the building clocks of this planet. A wellsite is an area wherein things like gas and oil can be extracted from. When it comes down to it, the size of these work sites will correspond with how much space a production facility needs.

A person who takes charge of all the different drilling stages is called a wellsite geologist. This person is also responsible for managing the extraction of resources in an area. Other duties include scanning and studying rocks from these wells in order to make the drilling process run smoothly. These spots are located all around the world, but the most popular is wellsite geology Permian Basin.

This basin got its name from two different ones situated in Midland and Delaware. This zone is a sedimentary depression which can be found at the southeastern point of New Mexico, with Texas on the other side. Due to this, it is included in the midcontinent producing area.

The zone one the most well known and biggest deposits of Permian rocks in the world. It is also the second biggest natural gas producing area. Due to the rocks found, it also produces potassium salts or potash.

From a historical standpoint, it used to be the home of local tribes until they were forced to evacuate by the United States Army in 1875 because of the war going on during that time. When the war was over, the land was then occupied by local farmers together with their livestock and families. The well maintained and lush grasslands were what lured them in. However, because they needed water in order to continue living there, they decided to drill the land. They were not only able to discover water, they found proof of gas and oil as well.

History books state that the zone was officially discovered and acknowledged by the government in nineteen twenty one. Today, it is still being constantly used. Since its official date of discovery, workers have uncovered approximately twenty nine billion barrels of oil and seventy five cubic feet of natural gas. Not only that, it has even helped during world war two since it was the biggest resource when it came to creating the needed equipment to survive.

There has been a large rise of wellsite geology over the years, most notably in America. Oil extraction is now at its highest peak, due to its continuous growth. According to recent studies, the production rates are estimated to continue its steady increase in the next decade. This is good news to politicians and economists, because this means improvement, economy wise.

Following the increase in production, there will be a need to enlist the help of professionals to manage the equipment used in these work sites. These jobs are important because it is through the work of these people that the products are taken to refineries where the processing can take place. In the end, this is still an advantage because there will be more job opportunities for people.

In conclusion, this zone is one of the biggest factors in the inflation of wellsite geology. It not only helps the economy of the country, but also in science. Due to its many uses, it is important to take care of it and not take it for granted. Just like any other natural resource, a certain degree of care and preservation should be applied.
